A Legacy in
Scottish Music

Founded in 1966, the Dr William Baird Ross Trust honours the memory of an extraordinary Scottish organist and composer. Born in Montrose, Dr Ross served as organist at Broughton Place United Presbyterian Church and later at the Church of the Holy Rude in Stirling.

He is best remembered for writing the descant to the tune Crimond—a composition that gained international recognition when it was performed at the Royal Wedding of Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip in 1947.
